Digitalization and insight at Farm Dairy with Blinqx procurement software

Farm Dairy has been producing fresh dairy products in Lelystad since 1999 and supplying them to Dutch retailers. Every year, the company processes about 200 million kilograms of milk from Dutch cows, with a focus on sustainability and quality. Farm Dairy products such as milk, custard and yogurt are available daily in the refrigerated section of supermarkets.

Farm Dairy needed a better grip on the flow of invoices, especially for maintenance and repair of machinery in the plant. The process was manual and time-consuming, with no insight into the status of the invoices. 'The process was still entirely manual; the invoice came in, was booked into Exact, and then an employee from technical services had to approve it and staple the packing slip or service note to the paper invoice,' says Michael Sterenberg, responsible for finance and ICT within Farm Dairy. This led to delays, with the finance department having little insight into the status of invoices received.

Scan Sys was brought in to implement the software: "We worked very closely together during the development of the integration and were able to indicate very clearly what we needed," says Michael Sterenberg. This has significantly influenced the way of working at Farm Dairy: "We now have control of the flow of invoices, we have insight into the costs and we can complete a period much faster.

Farm Dairy is now investigating further optimization of the goods receiving process so that the invoice processing is even more efficient. As Anneke Wessel, who works in financial administration at Farm Dairy, says, "If we could improve that process even more, it would be really great.
